Harvest news by winemaker Charl Myburgh

The season that led up to the 2015 harvest had less rain than previous seasons which caused it to be very dry. For this reason farmers had to supply additional irrigation which in turn led to water supplies being under preassure.

The 2015 Harvest began two weeks earlier than usual and the first grapes were received on 29th of January. We immediately saw that 2015 was going to be a harvest to remember. The grapes were healthy and earlier physiologically ripe. The quality of the cultivars that was harvested earlier this year was phenominal. The red wine also has a deep red colour and is of high qaulity. Once again it will be a record smashing harvest, that will end at about 16,800 tons.
